Bhubaneswar: In what could be said as a retaliatory act of the Maoists for the encounter in forests bordering Keonjhar-Jajpur districts on Monday, a day after the red rebels struck the block office at Padia in Malkangiri. According to reports, in a pre-dawn attack about 40 armed ultras stormed into the block office triggering landmine blasts. After blowing up the newly constructed building, the ultras disappeared into the nearby forest shouting slogans against anti-naxal operations by the security forces, Padia Block Development Officer (BDO) Michael Tiga said. |
